Closing Ceremony of the 2026 Vietnamese Language and Cultural Immersion Course for National Chengchi University Students

On July 10, 2026, the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS, VNU) held the Closing Ceremony for the 2026 Vietnamese Language and Cultural Immersion Course (5th iteration) for students from National Chengchi University (Taiwan, China). The ceremony took place in a warm, formal, and memorable atmosphere, marking the conclusion of a meaningful journey of learning, cultural exchange, and exploration for 15 participating students this summer.

Attending the ceremony from ULIS were Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoa Ngoc Son, representatives from various administrative departments, along with leadership, faculty members, and students from the Faculty of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Linguistics and Cultures. Representing National Chengchi University were Dr. Le Thi Nham, Chair of the Department of Southeast Asian Languages and Cultures, alongside the 15 participating students.

The event commenced with a lively dance performance titled “Bac Bling,” enthusiastically presented by the students from National Chengchi University.

Delivering the opening remarks, Dr. Hoa Ngoc Son emphasized the university’s commitment to promoting international cooperation. He noted that the course not only enhanced the students’ Vietnamese language proficiency but also provided them with deep, hands-on experiences with Vietnamese culture and its people.

On behalf of the Faculty of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Linguistics and Cultures, Dean Dr. Tran Huu Tri commended the international students for successfully completing the program. He praised their dedication, curiosity, and adaptability throughout their stay in Vietnam.

Representing National Chengchi University, Dr. Le Thi Nham shared the positive outcomes achieved by the student delegation. She expressed sincere gratitude to ULIS for its warm hospitality, well-structured curriculum, and enriching cultural experiences.

During the reflection session, student representatives from National Chengchi University shared heartfelt feelings about their time in Vietnam. Stories about engaging Vietnamese language classes, interactive cultural activities, and fond memories with teachers, local student volunteers, and Vietnamese friends deeply touched everyone present.

At the ceremony, university and faculty representatives officially presented certificates of completion and souvenir gifts to all 15 students from National Chengchi University.

Following the formal ceremony, participants enjoyed a Vietnamese culinary experience featuring the “Skilful Hands” cooking competition. Students from National Chengchi University teamed up with ULIS faculty and students to prepare traditional Vietnamese dishes. This interactive activity served not only as a fun team-building experience but also provided deeper insights into the richness of Vietnamese culinary tradition.

The Closing Ceremony of the 2026 Vietnamese Language and Cultural Immersion Course concluded in a warm, bittersweet atmosphere, bringing an unforgettable summer to an end. The knowledge, experiences, and friendships cultivated throughout the program will continue to serve as a bridge to strengthen educational and cultural cooperation between ULIS-VNU and National Chengchi University in the years ahead.
