On the afternoon of September 27, at the Sports Complex Football Field – University of Languages and International Studies, VNU, Hanoi, the football team of the Faculty of Vietnamese & Southeast Asian Language and Culture was officially established. The team gathered a large number of both Vietnamese and international students of the Faculty.

To support the team and also as a “special” player, Mr. Trần Hữu Trí, Head of the Faculty of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Linguistics and Cultures, shared:
“Our university and faculty place great emphasis on promoting sports activities to build a positive and healthy lifestyle on campus. A sound mind comes from a healthy body. After sports activities, students will become more aware of taking care of their health and maintaining a positive attitude, which helps them study more effectively. This is also a chance to connect Vietnamese and international students, creating a friendly and inclusive environment for everyone in the faculty.”

At the launch event, the first friendly match took place in a highly energetic atmosphere. Despite the rainy weather, the players were enthusiastic throughout the game. In the end, the match concluded with a 3-0 victory for the team in blue.

Right after the friendly match full of emotions, Zhao Tang (a Chinese exchange student) shared his feelings:
“Today I am very happy to play football with my Vietnamese friends. This is not just a football match, but also an opportunity to connect, exchange, and strengthen our friendship. Everyone coordinated smoothly, encouraged one another, and made this game truly meaningful.”

Although the first match has ended, the sporting spirit of both lecturers and students of the Faculty of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Linguistics and Cultures is opening up new promising milestones. Stay tuned and cheer for the weekly matches at the ULIS football field!
