On May 13, 2024, the University of Languages ​​and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi organized the 10th Presentation Contest on Understanding of the Asian Community. This activity is a part of the program on Understanding of the Asian Community subject taught by the Department of Vietnamese Language and Culture.

Attending the contest were Vice Principal Lam Quang Dong, representatives of leaders of units, the Jury, leaders and lecturers of the Department of Vietnamese Language and Culture and students participating in the course Understanding of the Asian Community in semester 2 of the 2023-2024 school year.

The program opened with the dance performance “Red Blood, Yellow Skin” performed by AC4U Art Club.

In his opening speech, Vice Principal Lam Quang Dong praised the practicality and diversity of the content of the 6 presentations and believed that they would certainly bring many interesting experiences to the audience. The Vice Principal also highly appreciated the value of the subject in helping students accumulate knowledge about economics, politics, and culture of Asian countries, while also having the opportunity to interact with domestic and foreign experts.

Speaking at the contest, Head of the Department of Vietnamese Language and Culture, Tran Huu Tri thanked all students for accompanying and completing the course. Dr. Tran Huu Tri also expressed his joy when a student’s research paper participating in the competition was published in the school’s Journal of Foreign Studies. The Head of the Department of Vietnamese Language and Culture expressed his hope that this subject and competition can ignite the passion for research, exploration and learning in students.

After the preliminary round, the 6 best students competed in two parts: presentation and Q&A. Through this, the contestants not only demonstrated their knowledge and passion, but also had to have excellent speaking skills to convince the judges and the audience.

After the exciting competitions, the Jury announced the results of the competition as follows:

First Prize: Doan Manh Dung: Current situation and proposed solutions to promote scientific research activities of students of QH2022 course, Faculty of English Education, University of Languages ​​and International Studies, VNU.

Second Prize: 

• Le Kim Hanh: The role of ULIS JOB FAIR in students’ job opportunities.
• Dao Thuy Hong: “Gray hair economy” in China and lessons learned from Vietnam when the population is aging.

Third Prize  

Hoang Thi Thu Huyen: Huyndai Jump School and the community benefits of the tripartite partnership model (PPP) through the connection between youth, students and metors.
Pham Tran Huy Cuong: The impact of the KARA canal project – Thailand on Vietnam.
Truong Thi Nhu Quynh: The trend of studying abroad of students of Chan Mong High School.

“Understanding of the Asian Community” Contest for the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year has concluded after a period of exciting competition.
